Max-Props should be greased once a year. This can be done in or out of the water. If the boat is in the water year round you should have a diver in the water at least once a year check anodes; they can grease the propeller at that time. Or, if the boat is hauled every year, it is easy to grease it while it is out of the water. We recommend Lubriplate 130 AA grease.
Bought the grease and fittings (have a grease gun already)
Prop almost ready for paint and salt water!
$12.00 seems high. How about a choice using USPS’ lowest rate and slowest? I got this be cause I used up the last of my grease just now. And, the boat was launched. Did not need it till next year.
PYI’s service is always good, and the Max-Prop Grease is fine, but the plastic tube that it comes in screws into the grease gun (provided with Max-Prop grease kit) and can become stripped after several uses. This prevents using the remaining grease in the tube which can be more than 25%. The best strategy is probably to avoid removing the tube after it's screwed into the grease gun, but this might be impractical in some situations.
As usual our order arrive promptly exactly as expected. Thanks
