R&D Marine Split Couplings are machined from a solid steel billet, unlike most others that are cast. Machined solid steel split couplings provide increased strength and durability. By clamping onto the shaft, the R&D Marine Split Couplings can compensate for normal shaft variances intolerance. Split Couplings are much easier to remove than a solid coupling. Simply loosen the shoulder bolts and tap the split opening with a chisel to remove from the shaft.
