The Max-Prop Easy is a step forward in Max-Prop design. This propeller replaces the well-known Max-Prop Classic, facilitating simplicity for the customer without sacrificing performance. The Easy model’s main attributes over the Classic are: 1) ease of installation (simple bolt on to the shaft); and 2) flexibility of pitch adjustment without the need of a haul out.

Please allow 3-5 days of handling before we can ship your Max-Prop propeller. This is to allow any time for boring and assembly.
If your engine achieves either too much or too little RPM at max throttle, adjust the pitch to a higher or lower setting to attain the correct RPM. Pitch adjustment can be done in the water as the propeller does not need to be disassembled to change the pitch.
In forward the Max-Prop will offer 96% of the efficiency of a fixed blade propeller of the same diameter and pitch. The 4% loss in power can usually be eliminated by precisely matching the pitch of the Max-Prop to fit the boat engine combination. The three blade has a major advantage when going against heavy winds and seas, it will maintain the boat speed up to 30% better than the two blade.
Just like other Max-Prop propellers, the Easy feathers to a low drag position while sailing. Under sail the Max-Prop will increase sailing speed by about 15%, the largest difference being noticed when sailing in light air. When sailing with a fixed propeller the vessel has to overcome the fixed blade drag, installing a Max-Prop maximizes sailing performance.
The Max-Prop provides 80% more power than a comparable fixed blade propeller. The Max-Prop utilizes the same leading edge in forward as it does in reverse giving the propeller the same thrust in both directions dramatically improving control and power in reverse.
Max-Prop Easy
The 4 blade max prop should be standard equipment. This is my 3rd season with it. Sails faster, motors faster at lower rpm, and nearly zero prop walk when going in reverse. This is the best upgrade that I have done to my now 40 yo boat. The safety and comfort provided by this equipment is priceless, and every boat I own in the future will have one. It preforms as good as it looks.
Great service
I replaced a fixed 3 blade. The recommended maxi prop by PYI was the same diameter. The blade side is wildly different however. The Maxi prop does not generate nearly the same thrust as the fix blade. More sea trials will be needed to see if this even works. The staff at PYI were a bit unorganized so you need to keep on them to be sure the order is processed.
My experience was great, from the selection process to ordering the right unit Fred Hutchison was very responsive to both emails and phone calls. The commitment on the shipping date was helpful in planning my haul out, PYI was just a great experience. Love the change in performance.
